One of the highlights of 2018 was the first IPF- International Parkour Federation- international congress organized by IPTC (International Professional Training Certifications) and AFPU (Asia Freerunning Parkour Union) held at the Erdoba Elegance Hotel in Mardin, Turkey on May 14, 2018. Fifteen countries and numerous international and national organizations and governing bodies were represented at the IPF congress.
Athletes present spoke about how they have formed or are in the process of forming national governing bodies for Parkour in their own countries. They also spoke about the unique challenges in their own countries. Topics of discussion also included the future of Parkour competition, education, important initiatives, and how to bring together the many parkour communities. It was the first time that athlete representatives from the MENA region had the opportunity to share their experiences, challenges, and successes with colleagues from around the world.
